1. Applicants must submit a completed and signed application for the test. If re-testing please fill
out another application form.
2. Your 3-page essay about “What Super ‘T’ Karate has done for me”. Must be turned in at the
same time as you turn in your Testing Fee and Application.
3.Black Belt testing fee must be paid in full at the time when you turn in your testing application;
there will be a $50 fee for any re-tests.
4. All kids wishing to test for Jr. Black Belt MUST BE 8 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
TRAINING:
A. General
1. Prior to becoming a test candidate for the Black Belt testing you should be training at least 3-4 classes
per week to prepare for the upcoming test.
B. 6-Weeks Prior to Date
1. A minimum of 3 classes per week is mandatory for the full 6-week period. It is extremely important that
both the testing candidate and the instructor have the maximum amount of time to properly prepare for this
important goal.
2. If for any reason you cannot meet this requirement you will need to wait until the next testing cycle.
3. Candidates must furnish their own partner. Your partner will be helping with sparring, self-defense, MMA,
and pad work. Please choose your partner wisely.
PROTECTIVE GEAR:
Sparring-All equipment must be Super ‘T’ Karate approved.

NOTICE: Below is an outline of requirements to help you prepare for your Black Belt
Testing – Actual Testing may very.
1st Section -- Strength & Flexibility – Candidates must perform the minimum push-ups, sit-ups,
squats, jumping jacks and flexibility according to their group each time they come to the test. See enclosed
sheet: Minimum Strength, Flexibility and Endurance.
2nd Section -- Basic Techniques - Candidates must perform the following kicking and punching
techniques in order to demonstrate their skill.
a. Front Kick
b. Side Kick
c. Round Kick
d. Spin Kick
e. Front & Back Knee’s
f. Double Jab
g. Jab/Power / Hook
h. Front Hand Uppercut / Power
i. Back Hand Uppercut / Hook

3rd Section -- Self Defense – Candidates must demonstrate their skill by releasing themselves from the
following types of holds or grabs using any defense.
a. One Hand Grab
b. Two-Hand Grab
c. Two Hand Front Choke
d. Side Shoulder Grab
e. Side Head Lock
f. Tackle Defense
4th Section -- Pad Work – Candidates must demonstrate their skills using Speed, Focus, and Power.

5th Section -- Boxing/Kickboxing – Candidates must demonstrate the following skills: Defense,
Offense, Control and Conditioning, through 3-rounds Boxing and 3-rounds Kickboxing (sparring).
6th Section -- MMA - Candidates must demonstrate the following Techniques.

i. 1rd Knee Grappling
7th Section -- Belt Ceremony – After candidates pass all parts of testing
a. Speech on what training at Super T Karate has done for them.
b. 90-second demonstration routine at belt ceremony
c. Must provide your own partners for testing and Belt Ceremony.
EXPECTATIONS:
A. This is a comprehensive and difficult test.
B. If you do not pass the test on your first try. Don’t be discouraged, we expect you to maintain a
positive attitude and demonstrate a non-quitting spirit by coming back to the next test.
C. Do your best and you will at the very least learn from the experience and be better prepared
for next time.
D. If you pass one or more parts, you only need to take remaining parts on your next test, except
for the Strength & Flexibility section, which must be passed each time you attend.
